A weekend in: Margate
We’ve got a lot to say about this seaside town
Since our first visit back in 2021, Margate has had our hearts. While we’d like to think we discovered this trendy seaside town, its popularity has been on the rise since the 2010s. Riding the wave of the Turner Gallery opening in 2011, the breeze of a 1hr 20 train from London St. Pancras and the revival of Dreamland, the Old Town has been luring a cool crowd thanks to its booming foodie scene, boutique shops and bountiful secondhand markets. Be that as it may, this is still your quintessential British seaside town and is not without its tired tourist traps and wrong turns. Read on for what to have on your radar, from two design-obsessed 30-somethings, whether it’s a short but sweet jolly outing or a weekend away.
